{"id":20,"date":"2014-05-16T01:13:46","date_gmt":"2014-05-16T01:13:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cashlinqsupport.com\/helpdesk\/?p=20"},"modified":"2014-05-16T01:13:46","modified_gmt":"2014-05-16T01:13:46","slug":"how-do-i-add-a-category","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cashlinqhelpdesk.com\/?p=20","title":{"rendered":"How do I add a Category?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Categories and Subcategories allow your donors to designate their donation to a particular fund. \u00a0This post will walk you through how to create Categories and Subcategories and ensure they are included your Giving Page(s).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>To Add a New Category:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Click \u201cAdmin\u201d at the top of the Qsuite<\/li>\n<li>In the \u201cCategories\u201d section click \u201cAdd a Category\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cashlinqhelpdesk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/AddACategory.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1364\" src=\"https:\/\/cashlinqhelpdesk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/AddACategory.jpg\" alt=\"AddACategory\" width=\"300\" height=\"196\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enter the name of your new Category<\/li>\n<li>\u201cGL Code\u201d is an optional field if you are working with General Ledger Numbers and want to take advantage of this for reporting purposes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cashlinqhelpdesk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Category-Name.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1365\" src=\"https:\/\/cashlinqhelpdesk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Category-Name.jpg\" alt=\"Category-Name\" width=\"300\" height=\"158\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Your new Category will now show in the \u201cActive Category\u201d list:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cashlinqhelpdesk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Active-Category-List.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1366\" src=\"https:\/\/cashlinqhelpdesk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Active-Category-List.jpg\" alt=\"Active-Category-List\" width=\"300\" height=\"209\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Adding a Subcategory:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Click the pencil icon next to the Category where you want to add a Subcategory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cashlinqhelpdesk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Add-SubCat.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1367\" src=\"https:\/\/cashlinqhelpdesk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Add-SubCat.jpg\" alt=\"Add-SubCat\" width=\"277\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click on [+ Add Subcategory] to give your new Subcategory a name and click [Add] to save your entry<\/li>\n<li>Continue to click\u00a0[+ Add Subcategory] and enter as many Subcategories as needed.
