{"id":82,"date":"2014-05-16T01:33:38","date_gmt":"2014-05-16T01:33:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cashlinqsupport.com\/helpdesk\/?p=82"},"modified":"2014-05-16T01:33:38","modified_gmt":"2014-05-16T01:33:38","slug":"what-is-a-late-return","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cashlinqhelpdesk.com\/?p=82","title":{"rendered":"What is a Late Return?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You may have noticed on your Failed Transaction Report a letter \u201cL\u201d in front of a <a title=\"Credit Card &amp; eCheck Failure Codes\" href=\"http:\/\/cashlinqhelpdesk.com\/?p=179\">Failure Code<\/a>\u00a0for an eCheck transaction or noticed the words \u201cLate Return\u201d on your SmoothPay Batch Detail report. \u00a0A Late Return happens when the\u00a0donor\u2019s bank is late to decline an eCheck transaction which has already deposited to your bank account. \u00a0This resulted in the debit of the Late Return from your account.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, there is no authorization process for an eCheck transaction, so there is no \u201capproval process\u201d like there is with a credit or debit card. \u00a0The Receiving Depository Financial Institution (RDFI) \u2013 your donor\u2019s bank \u2013 receives the eCheck and then responds if the transaction is\u00a0declined. \u00a0A decline would result in the donor\u2019s transaction being marked as Failed in your Qsuite. \u00a0In those instances where the RDFI (the donor\u2019s bank) is\u00a0delayed in responding with a decline and the funds have already deposited to your account,\u00a0this\u00a0would result in a Late Return and the funds would be debited back from\u00a0your account.\u00a0eCheck transactions which are a Late Return will have the letter \u201cL\u201d in front of its <a title=\"Credit Card &amp; eCheck Failure Codes\" href=\"http:\/\/cashlinqhelpdesk.com\/?p=179\">Failure Code<\/a>\u00a0indicating why it was declined and that is was Late.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on eCheck\/ACH Payment Processing, visit our post on the CashLINQ Support Blog titled: <a href=\"http:\/\/cashlinqblog.com\/the-basics-ach-payments-the-roles\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Basics: ACH Payments \u2013 The Roles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff\">what is a late return , why did my echeck fail , why did the eft fail , \u00a0what did my echeck fail?
